In 2008 Joyce launched Number One Fan Press. The first release was a memoir titled Aching To Be about her life touring as a bass player in the band Scarce. Other releases include: Lost in Providence, Circus Boy Blue, What Can I Do When I Miss You? and My Mom is a Rock Star. In 2011, Joyce’s YA novel My Misadventures as a Teenage Rock Star was published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Her latest release is Patient, Patient.

Joyce Raskin is an author, artist and musician. She began writing and drawing at the age of eight when her grandmother gifted her a diary. At age fourteen Joyce learned how to play bass guitar. At age twenty one, shortly before graduating from RISD, she joined the band Scarce. The band Scarce released the Red ep, many singles and their debut record Deadsexy on A&M Records. The video All Sideways appeared on 120 minutes.
